The high precision miniature measuring machine is important to ensure the production of high reliability and high performance artificial organs. This machine equipped with triggering and scanning probe could be able to carry out dimensional measuring, shape control and reverse engineering etc. which relate to the small size artificial limbs.

First of all, the high reliability micrometer level measuring machine is required to judge whether the dimensional data measure up to the design requirements by programming for the artificial limbs with different shapes and dimensions. Meanwhile, the measuring software with strong CAD functions could generate the workpiece measuring program through CAD documents of artificial organs under the off-line state and able to realize true simulation for the machine, measuring probe and measured workpiece. After acquisition of the data of artificial organs, the measuring software could be able to analyze the measuring date through its perfect reporting and statistics analysis functions. In case of dimensional data being improper, it could make corresponding adjustment to the processing including compensation and change of cutting tools.

            

The reverse engineering in the medical devices is also an important link. Firstly, produce CAD model before production and processing. If the company does not have the CAD model, the company must provide complete reverse modeling data by CMM to realize fast geometric reshaping. The Enjoy series with unique TP-Scan functions could directly carry out digital scanning over the workpiece without the need for special scanning probe and finish the data collection for the workpiece. Additionally, most parts used in medical devices have heterogeneous surfaces. Curve and cambered surface modeling is the most important and complex link. PS-DMIS has point cloud management and compartmentalized tools, small plane modeling and compartmentalized tools, robust curve setup tools, robust cambered surface modeling and shape identification tools which enable the discrete points to form cambered surface simply and easily and conduct sound filtering for the point cloud data collected and realize building and modification to the curve and cambered surface and then output the data from the modeling processing CAD software such as PowerShape, UG,Pro/E,Catia;Cimatron and then change the existing sample parts into 3D digital model which greatly facilitates the use of users.
